What's happening in Roslindale?

"What's New in Roslindale Village"

From the email newsletter which has no web equivelant...My smart remarks are in brackets...

Emack & Bolio's has been sold to a new owner, Gentiana Doko, whose sister co-owns the Blue Star Restaurant. Look for new offerings and an updated look in the coming months at the newly renamed Select Café. [Hopefully they will do something about the climate control. I love Blue Star and wish they would stay open past 3:00pm - I like a BLT for supper, too!]

The new One to One Eye Care is open for business on Corinth Street, as is Bree Jewelry, across the street from Geoffrey's Café.

Robyn's Bar & Grill has been sold to the Halfway Café, a popular family-style pub in Dedham.

Victor Santos has landscaped the former parking lot space in front of his Dunkin Donuts.

Ron's Automotive has nearly completed a storefront rehabilitation project that RVMS assisted through matching funds and free design services.

Boston Public Works has installed some of the missing ornamental bollard caps on the black posts sticking out of the sidewalks. The Boston Parks Department plans to remove dead street tree stumps and empty, rusting street cages on Washington Street and replace them with new trees this fall. City crews removed the old, rusting Roslindale Village sign at Taft Hill Terrace at our request. " [It would be fantastic if Public Works or someone could encourage businesses not to pile up their stinky trash on the sidewalks...point of pride people - if I see nasty garbage outside your store, I'm less likely to buy fish from you, and we buy a lot of fish...]
